Monday June 21st 2010 the first day of summer. In honor of this momentous occasion a group of us headed out to create a monstrous bonfire. After traveling for a good amount of time listening to a CD that skipped from even the slightest bump and turning around three times we met up with the rest of the crew and caravanned to a clearing where a wooden ti-pi sat waiting for the addition of more wood. Applying a fair amount of girl scout water and the lit strings of a mop we had a blazing fire. That is when we busted out the 'mallows and starburst and started roasting. The
bang of a drum started us chanting and dancing around the blaze of fire. But a true summer celebration wouldn't be complete without a lake. Running down to the dock we stood in the cool water as the moonlight glistened off the surface of the still lake. The beautiful beginning to a beautiful summer.
decided that it was necessary to lay out in the sun. After eating a bit of lunch and grabbing a book I spread my blanket and began to read. Perhaps ten minutes into my lazy day reading my eyelids began to droop. I curled my arms up and I'll just rest my eyes for a bit, ha RIGHT! I woke up half an hour later with sore elbows and sun beaten legs. Great! But that wasn't it. I knew that I needed to go inside so that I didn't get really burnt but I just couldn't stay inside so I went out again...the next day I couldn't move! My legs were burnt my chest was burnt, my arms were burnt. Even my neck was burnt. Oh the Joys of summer.
